Job Overview

A leading construction company is seeking experienced professionals to support a major road and highway infrastructure project in Oman. The available positions include Material Engineer, Head Land Surveyor, Workshop Manager, CAD Draftsman – Roads, and Laboratory Technician.

These professionals will contribute to critical project activities including materials quality assurance and testing, land surveying and dimensional control, workshop and equipment management, road engineering documentation, and construction laboratory operations. Candidates with strong experience in road, highway, and infrastructure construction projects are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Material Engineer

• Manage and supervise site laboratory activities for road and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct and oversee QA/QC testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and Superpave asphalt.
• Ensure materials testing complies with applicable project specifications and standards.
• Review and maintain material testing records and reports.
• Coordinate laboratory activities with construction and quality control teams.
• Support material approval and quality assurance processes.

Head Land Surveyor

• Lead surveying activities for road and highway construction projects.
• Establish and maintain geodetic control networks.
• Manage road alignment and dimensional control activities.
• Perform and oversee earthwork calculations.
• Review and coordinate survey-related shop drawings.
• Manage and coordinate survey teams across project activities.
• Ensure accurate survey data and documentation are maintained.

Workshop Manager

• Manage workshops supporting heavy vehicles, construction machinery, and equipment.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, servicing, and repair activities.
• Manage workshop manpower and daily operational activities.
• Monitor equipment reliability and maintenance performance.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Maintain workshop records, maintenance schedules, and equipment documentation.
• Support efficient utilization and availability of construction equipment.

CAD Draftsman – Roads

• Prepare road and highway alignment drawings.
• Develop plan and profile drawings.
• Prepare construction and shop drawings.
• Produce accurate as-built drawings.
• Coordinate drawing requirements with engineering and construction teams.
• Maintain accurate drawing revisions and technical documentation.

Laboratory Technician

• Perform laboratory testing of construction materials.
• Test soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt.
• Conduct testing in accordance with applicable AASHTO, ASTM, and BS standards.
• Maintain accurate laboratory test records and documentation.
• Support quality control activities for road and infrastructure construction.
• Ensure testing equipment and laboratory procedures are properly maintained.

Requirements & Qualifications

Material Engineer

• Minimum 10 years of experience.
• Strong experience in QA/QC of soils, aggregates, concrete, and Superpave asphalt.
• Experience managing site laboratories.
• Strong knowledge of material testing standards.
• Relevant road, highway, or infrastructure construction experience.

Head Land Surveyor

• Minimum 10 years of experience.
• Expertise in road alignment and dimensional control.
• Experience with earthwork calculations.
• Knowledge of geodetic control networks.
• Experience with survey-related shop drawings.
• Proven ability to manage survey teams.
• Relevant road and infrastructure project experience.

Workshop Manager

• Minimum 10 years of experience.
• Extensive workshop management experience.
• Experience handling heavy vehicles, construction machinery, and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance and repair operations.
• Experience managing workshop manpower.
• Strong understanding of equipment reliability and maintenance planning.

CAD Draftsman – Roads

• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Experience preparing road and highway alignment drawings.
• Strong experience with plan and profile drawings.
• Experience preparing shop drawings and as-built drawings.
• Relevant road and infrastructure project experience.

Laboratory Technician

• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience testing soil, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt.
• Knowledge of AASHTO, ASTM, and BS standards.
• Strong laboratory testing and documentation skills.
• Relevant road, highway, or infrastructure construction experience.

General Requirement

Candidates must have relevant experience in Road, Highway, or Infrastructure Construction Projects. GCC experience will be an advantage.
