Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager / Engineering Lead for a 100% remote, 12-month contract opportunity. The role is designed for a senior technology leader with 10–15+ years of professional experience and 3–5 years of engineering leadership experience, with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, distributed systems, and enterprise application architecture.

The successful candidate will provide technical and engineering leadership across Java-based microservices environments, supporting architecture, technical governance, development standards, and delivery practices. The position requires strong knowledge of Oracle, REST/GraphQL APIs, CI/CD, distributed systems, and AI-assisted engineering approaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage software engineering teams delivering Java-based microservices.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams.
• Design and review scalable microservices architectures.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards and technical governance practices.
• Develop and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design and support distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.
• Oversee REST and GraphQL API development and integration.
• Coordinate with technical and business stakeholders to define engineering solutions.
• Support Oracle-based enterprise application environments.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD development and deployment practices.
• Review technical designs, architecture decisions, and implementation approaches.
• Drive engineering quality, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Promote effective use of AI-assisted engineering tools and practices.
• Identify technical risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Support continuous improvement across software development processes.
• Mentor engineers and technical leads and support their professional development.
• Ensure engineering teams follow appropriate development, testing, deployment, and governance standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 10–15+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3–5 years of engineering leadership or management experience.
• Strong expertise in Java.
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot.
• Strong experience designing and developing microservices architectures.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems.
• Experience with Oracle databases and enterprise applications.
• Experience with REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and software delivery pipelines.
• Experience with software architecture and technical governance.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering approaches.
• Strong technical leadership and team-management capabilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Native Arabic speaker is mandatory.
• Ability to work effectively within the GCC time zone.
• Immediate joiners or candidates available within 20 days are preferred.
