Job Overview

A leading organization in Riyadh is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and key financial control activities. The position is suited to an accounting professional with strong experience in financial closing, financial statement preparation, project accounting, reconciliations, and accounting operations.

The Chief Accountant will play an important role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while supporting project-based accounting requirements, ERP processes, internal controls, and accounting policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly and annual accounting closing processes.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.
  • Review project accounting activities, including revenue, contract assets, accruals, WIP, receivables, and payables.
  • Prepare financial statement mapping and maintain accurate trial balances.
  • Prepare financial statements and related disclosures and notes.
  • Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and accounting balances.
  • Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and properly supported.
  • Support ERP accounting processes and system-related activities.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal accounting controls.
  • Support the implementation and application of accounting policies.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to resolve accounting and financial reporting issues.
  • Support compliance with applicable financial reporting requirements and accounting standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong experience in accounting operations and financial reporting.
  • Experience in contracting, construction, or project-based companies is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
  • Experience with financial closing and preparation of financial statements.
  • Strong understanding of project accounting, WIP, accruals, receivables, payables, and contract-related accounting.
  • Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and trial balance review.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and financial accuracy.
  • Relevant accounting qualification or professional certification is preferred.
