Job Overview

A leading Oil & Gas LNG operating company in Qatar is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Static / Piping for an Offshore Oilfield Expansion and Redevelopment Project. The position is based in Doha and is offered on a 5-year contract, providing an opportunity to contribute to a major energy project within a technically demanding engineering environment.

The successful candidate will provide mechanical engineering and technical design services across Static and Piping disciplines, supporting projects from concept definition and engineering studies through FEED, detailed design, commissioning, and operational support. Expert-level competency is required in at least one discipline area, either Static or Piping.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical design and engineering services for assigned Mechanical Engineering projects.
• Execute mechanical engineering activities across Static and Piping disciplines.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet company procedures, technical standards, quality requirements, schedules, cost objectives, and HSE requirements.
• Conduct mechanical engineering activities and in-house site surveys.
• Support projects from concept definition through engineering studies, FEED, detailed design, and commissioning.
• Provide technical engineering input throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and review mechanical engineering deliverables in accordance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders.
• Provide technical support to Operations where required.
• Manage engineering activities with appropriate consideration of time, cost, quality, and safety.
• Support greenfield and brownfield major engineering projects.
• Contribute to concept development and Front End Engineering Design activities.
• Support EPIC project execution and technical engineering requirements.
• Manage discipline engineering activities across multiple projects where required.
• Identify and resolve technical engineering issues.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable Oil & Gas standards, company procedures, and HSE requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer qualification is also acceptable with the required professional experience.
• 15 years of relevant Oil & Gas industry experience in Static and Piping disciplines.
• Expert-level competency required in at least one discipline: Static or Piping.
• Strong experience in Mechanical Engineering for major Oil & Gas projects.
• Experience with both greenfield and brownfield engineering projects.
• Proven experience in concept development and Front End Engineering Design (FEED).
• Experience with EPIC projects is required.
• Experience providing technical support to Operations is advantageous.
• Experience managing engineering activities across time, cost, quality, and HSE requirements.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong understanding of Oil & Gas engineering standards, procedures, and HSE requirements.

Salary: Excellent salary package with monthly living allowances

Additional employment details include:

• Contract Duration: 5 years
• Work Schedule: 5 days per week
• Working Hours: 8 hours per day
• Working Pattern: 22 days per month
• Rotation: 5.5 months on / 2 weeks off
• Location: Doha, Qatar — Office Based
