Job Overview

Freesia Electromechanical Works, the specialist MEP division of Azizi Developments, is seeking a Planning Engineer to support project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and performance analysis across major MEP developments in Dubai. The company delivers integrated electrical, mechanical, plumbing, firefighting, ELV, and HVAC solutions from design through testing and commissioning.

The Planning Engineer will play a key role in maintaining project schedules, evaluating resource requirements, identifying critical-path activities, and monitoring planned versus actual progress. The position requires strong technical engineering knowledge and the ability to analyze schedule deviations and recommend corrective actions to support timely project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Review manpower and equipment resource histograms on a weekly or monthly basis as required.
• Monitor project schedules throughout all stages of project execution.
• Evaluate resource allocation and provide recommendations to maintain required project progress.
• Develop and maintain planned-versus-actual progress charts, including histograms and S-curves.
• Analyze project performance and report deviations from the approved plan.
• Track, monitor, and forecast progress across project activities and deliverables.
• Monitor engineering documentation, product deliverables, fabrication status, and construction progress across disciplines.
• Analyze gaps between planned and actual progress and highlight areas requiring corrective action.
• Review work sequences against the overall project plan.
• Determine critical-path activities for assigned disciplines or specialties.
• Identify significant activities supporting interdisciplinary project requirements.
• Monitor schedule deviations, including subcontractor submissions and deliverables.
• Recommend corrective actions and work-around solutions to address schedule risks.
• Prepare schedule commentary for monthly progress reports and similar project documentation.
• Identify and report activities with critical or potential impacts on the project schedule.
• Prepare and present Critical Items Action Reports.
• Perform additional planning and scheduling responsibilities as directed by the Lead Planner-Scheduler.

• Strong understanding of technical engineering principles.
• Strong knowledge of project planning and scheduling methodologies.
• Ability to determine the necessary project activities and sequence required for timely completion.
• Ability to analyze planned versus actual project performance.
• Strong understanding of critical-path activities and schedule dependencies.
• Ability to identify schedule deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with specialized engineering and project-management software.
• Ability to produce and interpret bar charts, histograms, S-curves, graphs, and other visual project schedules.
• Strong analytical, reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary project teams.
