Job Overview

Akkar is seeking an experienced IT Manager to take ownership of IT infrastructure, operations, security, and automation across its growing UK and international locations. This is a hands-on leadership position suited to an IT professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial awareness and a practical approach to technology management.

The successful candidate will support users and manage devices while driving improvements across IT systems, Microsoft 365, Intune, mobile device management, endpoint security, AI tools, and business process automation. The role will also involve IT scaling, vendor management, budgeting, and commercial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of IT infrastructure and day-to-day IT operations.
• Manage IT systems and provide effective technical support to users.
• Manage devices, endpoints, and mobile device environments.
• Maintain and improve IT security, MFA, and endpoint protection.
• Manage Microsoft 365, Intune, and MDM environments.
• Identify opportunities to introduce AI tools across the business.
• Develop and implement process automation initiatives.
• Support IT scaling across UK and international locations.
• Improve IT processes, systems, efficiency, and operational performance.
• Manage technology vendors and supplier relationships.
• Support IT budgeting and commercial decision-making.
• Evaluate technology solutions based on business requirements and value.
• Contribute to the development of a secure, scalable, and efficient IT environment.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven professional experience in IT management, IT infrastructure, or a related technology leadership role.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and operations.
• Experience with Microsoft 365.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune and mobile device management.
• Knowledge of endpoint protection and IT security.
• Understanding of MFA and modern identity/security practices.
• Interest and practical experience in AI tools and automation.
• Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilities.
• Commercial awareness and experience working with vendors and technology budgets.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work hands-on while managing strategic IT priorities.
• Practical, proactive, and process-improvement-focused approach.
• Relevant IT, Microsoft, cybersecurity, or management certifications are advantageous.
