Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Android Mobile Developer to join a technology team in Dubai, UAE. This is a 5-day office-based, contract-to-hire position for one year, with preference for candidates who can join immediately. The role focuses on developing high-quality Android applications using modern Kotlin and Android development technologies.

The successful candidate will work with Android, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android Jetpack, Room, Navigation, Coroutines, Flow, REST APIs, JSON, dependency injection frameworks, and modern architectural patterns such as Clean Architecture and MVVM. The role also involves application testing, security, performance optimization, version control, and location-based technologies such as Google Maps or Mapbox.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Android applications using Kotlin.
• Build modern user interfaces using Jetpack Compose.
• Implement scalable application architecture using Clean Architecture and MVVM.
• Develop Android applications using Jetpack, Room, and Navigation components.
• Implement asynchronous programming using Coroutines and Flow.
• Integrate REST APIs and JSON-based services.
• Implement dependency injection using Hilt, Dagger, Koin, or equivalent technologies.
• Integrate Google Maps or Mapbox into mobile applications.
• Develop and maintain reliable and reusable mobile application components.
• Write and maintain unit and UI tests.
• Identify and resolve application performance issues.
• Implement appropriate mobile application security practices.
• Support application optimization and quality improvements.
• Use Git and version-control practices for collaborative development.
• Contribute to Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform initiatives where applicable.
• Collaborate with developers and other technical stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 7–10 years of professional mobile application development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Android and Kotlin.
• Strong experience with Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with Google Maps and/or Mapbox.
• Strong understanding of Clean Architecture and MVVM.
• Experience with Android Jetpack, Room, and Navigation.
• Strong knowledge of Coroutines and Flow.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and JSON.
• Experience with Hilt, Dagger, Koin, or similar dependency injection frameworks.
• Experience with unit testing and UI testing.
• Strong understanding of mobile application performance optimization.
• Knowledge of Android application security practices.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform.
• Strong Git and version-control skills.
• Strong problem-solving and software development skills.
• Immediate availability is required/preferred.
• Willingness to work 5 days from the office in Dubai.
• Ability to work under a one-year contract-to-hire arrangement.
