Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux System Administrator to manage and maintain Linux server environments, on-premises infrastructure, and resources hosted on Microsoft Azure. The role is responsible for maintaining infrastructure stability, security, availability, and performance to support critical business operations.

The successful candidate will provide L3-level Linux support and work across RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Azure infrastructure, VMware ESXi/vSphere, Kubernetes, SAN and object storage, server hardware, backup, disaster recovery, and automation. Strong troubleshooting and incident-resolution skills will be essential for maintaining reliable enterprise infrastructure.

This is a 12-month extendable contract under Marc Ellis payroll, providing a long-term opportunity to develop expertise across enterprise infrastructure, cloud technologies, virtualization, Kubernetes, automation, security, and system administration. Candidates with banking or Fintech experience will have an additional advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain enterprise Linux server environments.
• Provide L3-level Linux support and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, and similar Linux distributions.
• Manage Microsoft Azure services, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and virtual networks.
• Administer VMware ESXi and vSphere environments.
• Perform VM provisioning, cloning, snapshots, and migrations.
• Develop automation solutions using Bash, Python, and Ansible.
• Manage Kubernetes environments, including AKS, OpenShift, or EKS.
• Implement system hardening, vulnerability management, and security compliance practices.
• Administer x86 server hardware and associated infrastructure.
• Configure and maintain SAN storage and object storage systems.
• Support data backup and disaster recovery activities.
• Follow ITIL processes and infrastructure management best practices.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure incidents and implement effective resolutions.
• Maintain system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and infrastructure diagrams.
• Support infrastructure stability, security, availability, and performance requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in IT, with a strong focus on system administration.
• Hands-on experience with L3-level Linux support.
• Strong experience administering Linux servers, including RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar distributions.
• Production experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi and vSphere administration.
• Experience managing Kubernetes environments such as AKS, OpenShift, or EKS.
• Experience with enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery environments.
• Banking or Fintech domain experience is considered an advantage.

Technical Skills
