Job Overview

A technology organization is seeking an experienced IoT/Edge Engineer to design, build, and deploy industrial IoT and Edge AI solutions in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The role will support real-time decision-making, distributed intelligence, edge analytics, and cloud-edge integration across industrial and Oil & Gas environments.

The successful candidate will work on Edge AI, Industrial IoT, Digital Twins, edge computing, distributed analytics, and industrial system integration. The position involves integrating PLCs, SCADA, sensors, and historian systems while developing secure device connectivity using MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus, REST APIs, and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Edge AI and Industrial IoT architectures.
• Develop edge computing and distributed analytics solutions.
• Configure and manage edge gateways and edge nodes.
• Deploy AI/ML models on edge computing systems.
• Implement cloud-edge synchronization mechanisms.
• Integrate PLCs, SCADA systems, sensors, and historian systems.
• Develop device connectivity using MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus, and REST APIs.
• Implement Over-the-Air (OTA) update mechanisms.
• Implement edge security and Zero Trust architecture.
• Monitor edge node health, performance, availability, and reliability.
• Develop and support Digital Twin and Edge AI solutions.
• Work with cloud-native platforms including OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Implement security technologies including TLS/mTLS, RBAC, and Zero Trust controls.
• Develop software components using Python, .NET Core, Angular/React, and Node.js where required.
• Support industrial digital transformation initiatives and production deployments.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Master’s degree in Computer Science.
• 8–12 years of overall professional experience.
• Strong experience in Industrial IoT and Edge Computing.
• Hands-on experience with Edge AI and distributed computing environments.
• Experience with Digital Twins and industrial analytics.
• Strong knowledge of IoT protocols including MQTT, OPC-UA, AMQP, and related technologies.
• Experience with platforms such as OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of TLS/mTLS, RBAC, Zero Trust architecture, and edge security.
• Experience integrating industrial systems such as PLCs, SCADA, sensors, and historian systems.
• Programming experience with Python and relevant modern development technologies.
• Exposure to .NET Core, Angular/React, and Node.js.
• Exposure to the Oil & Gas industry is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
