Job Overview

Multiple Reservoir Development Subject Matter Expert (SME) opportunities are available with a leading Oil & Gas operator in Azerbaijan. The positions are part of the Reservoir Development team and cover Waterflood, Production Engineering, Petrophysics, and Development Planning.

These contract opportunities are designed for highly experienced Oil & Gas professionals with strong technical expertise in their respective disciplines. Candidates with experience working for operators or major international Exploration and Production (E&P) companies are preferred. The positions are open to international and expatriate candidates, while Azerbaijani language proficiency is preferred for the Development Planner position.

The six-month assignments provide an opportunity for senior professionals to apply their technical expertise within reservoir development activities and contribute to complex Oil & Gas projects while continuing their professional development.

Key Responsibilities

Waterflood SME

• Provide specialist technical expertise in waterflood and reservoir development activities.
• Support evaluation and optimization of waterflood strategies.
• Contribute technical analysis and recommendations to reservoir development planning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary reservoir and production teams.

Production Engineer SME

• Provide senior production engineering expertise within reservoir development activities.
• Support production optimization and performance evaluation.
• Analyze production-related challenges and develop technical recommendations.
• Collaborate with reservoir and other engineering disciplines.

Petrophysicist SME

• Provide specialist petrophysical expertise to support reservoir characterization and development.
• Evaluate and interpret relevant petrophysical data.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary reservoir development studies.
• Support technical decision-making through petrophysical analysis.

Development Planner

• Support reservoir development planning activities.
• Contribute to development strategies and multidisciplinary planning.
• Coordinate relevant technical inputs for development planning.
• Support evaluation of development opportunities and technical recommendations.
• Communicate effectively with project stakeholders in Azerbaijani where required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 15+ years of Oil & Gas industry experience.
• Strong technical expertise in the relevant discipline.
• Relevant professional background in one or more of the following:
  • Waterflood
  • Production Engineering
  • Petrophysics
  • Reservoir Development Planning
• Experience with Oil & Gas operators or major international E&P companies is preferred.
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• International and expatriate candidates are welcome to apply.
• Azerbaijani language proficiency is preferred for the Development Planner position.
