Job Overview

An opportunity is available for an experienced Testing & Commissioning Engineer specializing in FACTS systems, particularly Static Var Compensator (SVC) and Fixed Series Compensation (FSC) equipment. The position is based in Qawiyah, Saudi Arabia, on a yearly renewable contract and requires strong hands-on experience in electrical testing, commissioning, power systems, and FACTS equipment.

The successful candidate will support testing, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving activities involving SVC and FSC systems. Experience with GE, GE Grid Solutions, or GE Vernova equipment is particularly relevant to the position.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning activities for FACTS systems, including SVC and FSC equipment.
• Conduct high-voltage electrical testing in accordance with applicable project requirements and procedures.
• Commission and troubleshoot SVC and FSC systems and associated equipment.
• Diagnose technical issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting activities at SVC stations.
• Work with GE, GE Grid Solutions, and GE Vernova equipment.
• Review testing procedures, technical documentation, and commissioning requirements.
• Coordinate with project and technical teams during testing and commissioning activities.
• Identify equipment or system issues and support effective technical resolution.
• Maintain accurate testing, commissioning, maintenance, and technical records.
• Follow applicable electrical safety, testing, and commissioning procedures.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Testing & Commissioning.
• Strong hands-on experience with FACTS, SVC, and FSC systems.
• Experience with GE, GE Grid Solutions, or GE Vernova equipment.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage electrical testing and power systems.
• Experience in SVC station maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Strong technical problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Experience with Voltec Testing Engineers is an added advantage.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a technical project environment.
