Job Overview

We are seeking a Data Governance Specialist to support data governance, data quality, data strategy, and data-driven initiatives in Oman. The role is suited to an Omani national with 5–10 years of experience in performance monitoring, data governance, data-driven environments, or Big Data and AI initiatives.

The successful candidate will establish practical data quality standards, manage the Data Catalog, translate business requirements into clear data specifications, and support the development of trusted source-of-truth datasets. The role requires close collaboration with data owners, business stakeholders, and other teams to monitor data health and improve the overall reliability and usability of organizational data.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish practical data quality standards across organizational data environments.
• Manage and maintain the Data Catalog.
• Translate business requirements into clear and actionable data specifications.
• Support the development and maintenance of source-of-truth datasets.
• Drive Data by Design principles across relevant initiatives.
• Monitor overall data health and identify data quality issues.

• Promote data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and reliability.
• Facilitate effective communication between business and data stakeholders.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in:
  • Engineering
  • Business Analytics
  • Information Management
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Related field

Experience

• 5–10 years of experience in one or more of the following:
  • Performance monitoring
  • Data governance
  • Data-driven environments
  • Big Data initiatives
  • Artificial Intelligence initiatives
• Significant experience designing and implementing data strategies or data governance initiatives.
• Must be currently residing in Oman.
• Omani nationality is required.
