Job Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced Electrical Technician – Protection in Qatar to support electrical maintenance and repair activities within the Oil & Gas and energy sector. The position is suited to technicians with strong practical experience in electrical protection systems and industrial electrical equipment.
The successful candidate will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, testing, and commissioning across equipment including generators, motors, transformers, MCCs, switchgear, UPS systems, and associated electrical installations. The ability to interpret electrical drawings and manuals and follow safe working practices is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and identify technical issues.
- Carry out electrical repair and maintenance activities.
- Work with electrical protection systems and associated equipment.
- Inspect and maintain generators, motors, transformers, MCCs, and switchgear.
- Maintain and troubleshoot UPS systems and related electrical equipment.
- Conduct electrical testing and commissioning activities.
- Use electrical testing equipment safely and effectively.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Identify equipment abnormalities and recommend corrective actions.
- Follow established electrical safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Support electrical maintenance activities within Oil & Gas facilities and stations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and testing records.
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure reliable equipment operation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Secondary education with 2 years of formal electrical trade training, or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant electrical maintenance and repair experience.
- Oil & Gas experience is preferred.
- Practical experience with electrical protection systems and equipment.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Generators
- Motors
- Transformers
- MCCs
- Switchgear
- UPS systems
- Associated electrical equipment
- Experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and commissioning.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and manuals.
- Good knowledge of electrical testing equipment.
- Strong understanding of safe electrical working practices.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Experience working in Oil & Gas facilities or stations is an advantage.
