Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Integration Developer with strong hands-on expertise in IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) v12/v13 and IBM API Connect v10/v12. The role will focus on designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise integration solutions connecting APIs, messaging platforms, backend systems, microservices, and external applications.

The successful candidate will work across IBM ACE, IBM MQ, REST APIs, SOAP services, JDBC, ODBC, ESQL, Java, and API Connect, while contributing to integration architecture, API governance, security, testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. The position requires close collaboration with architects and backend development teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

This is a 6-month extendable contract under Marc Ellis payroll, offering opportunities for continued professional development through hands-on experience with enterprise integration platforms, API management, security technologies, integration patterns, and large-scale digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy message flows and integration solutions using IBM ACE v12/v13.
• Build and maintain integrations using IBM MQ, REST APIs, SOAP services, JDBC, ODBC, and related technologies.
• Create message models using DFDL and XML schemas.
• Develop transformation logic using ESQL and Java.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize message flow performance.
• Participate in requirements analysis and provide integration design recommendations.
• Develop unit tests and support SIT/UAT cycles.
• Prepare deployment artifacts and technical documentation.
• Maintain mapping sheets, design documents, and integration pattern documentation.
• Design, build, and publish REST APIs using IBM API Connect v10/v12.
• Develop API policies covering security, rate limiting, transformation, throttling, and related requirements.
• Integrate APIs with ACE, MQ, microservices, and external applications.
• Define and maintain API governance standards, naming conventions, and documentation guidelines.
• Implement OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS, and role-based access controls.
• Troubleshoot API gateway issues, latency, security exceptions, and performance bottlenecks.
• Prepare unit test cases and complete unit testing activities.
• Identify and resolve issues reported during testing.
• Collaborate with architects and backend teams to understand requirements and implement integration solutions.

Requirements & Qualifications

Technical Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) v12/v13.
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM API Connect v10/v12.
• Experience with IBM MQ and enterprise messaging.
• Strong experience developing REST APIs and SOAP integrations.
• Experience with JDBC and ODBC integrations.
• Experience with DFDL and XML schemas.
• Strong ESQL and Java development skills.
• Experience with API policies, security, throttling, rate limiting, and transformation.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS, and role-based access control.
• Experience troubleshooting production integration and API gateway issues.
• Knowledge of integration design patterns and API governance.
• Experience with unit testing and SIT/UAT support.
