Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Developer to lead application development initiatives and provide technical guidance to application development teams in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role is responsible for translating business requirements into technical solutions and leading the development of large or complex applications that support business objectives.

The successful candidate will work throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), covering technical design, software development, testing, deployment, performance optimization, code reviews, and technical problem resolution. The position also requires strong experience with Oracle databases, Oracle Developer Suite 10g, business application development, and web-enabling existing client-server applications.

Reporting to the CIO, the Senior Application Developer will supervise application developers, provide technical leadership, establish development standards, mentor team members, and coordinate with business and technical stakeholders to ensure successful application delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical designs and application solutions using established SDLC frameworks.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy software components using appropriate programming languages and development tools.
• Lead the development of large or complex business applications.
• Drive the resolution of complex technical and application-development issues.
• Provide technical leadership for new application implementations and complex enhancements to existing applications.
• Lead, mentor, and support application developers.
• Delegate development activities and monitor project progress to ensure timely delivery.
• Establish and maintain coding standards, development procedures, and technology documentation.
• Conduct peer code reviews to ensure compliance with established development standards.
• Prepare and review design documentation, deployment documentation, and technical deliverables.
• Communicate technical and business information to users, management, and technical teams.
• Provide and coordinate updates regarding open application and technical issues.
• Analyze application performance and implement improvements where required.
• Conduct specialized studies of application procedures, development tools, and programming technologies.
• Recommend appropriate application-development standards and technical practices.
• Coordinate with owner-company representatives regarding system availability, feasibility studies, and software-product evaluations.
• Monitor emerging application-development technologies and industry practices.
• Review relevant technology and industry developments to support continuous improvement.
• Support the web enablement of existing client-server application modules.
• Tune application modules to improve performance and efficiency.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in programming, analysis, and software design within a similar environment.
• Extensive experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Strong experience with Oracle Database.
• Experience with Oracle Developer Suite 10g.
• Proven experience developing business applications.
• Relevant training or courses in programming, systems analysis, and software design.
• Good knowledge of application and software design tools.
• Experience with web-enabling existing client-server application modules.
• Strong understanding of application performance tuning and optimization.
• Ability to lead and mentor application development teams.
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business users.
