Job Overview

A leading banking client in the UAE is seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer to contribute to enterprise-scale backend and financial technology solutions. The role is designed for professionals with strong expertise in Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, microservices, API management, messaging platforms, cloud technologies, and modern DevOps practices.

The successful candidate will work with highly scalable backend architectures, REST APIs, security frameworks, cloud services, containerized environments, and event-driven technologies. Experience in Banking, FinTech, Payments, or Financial Services is required, with exposure to areas such as Payments, Trade Finance, Treasury, Lending, or Digital Banking preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Develop and maintain Spring Boot-based microservices.
• Implement enterprise solutions using Spring Cloud and Spring Security.
• Design and integrate robust REST APIs.
• Work with OpenAPI/Swagger and API lifecycle management.
• Support API gateway and management solutions using Kong and/or Azure API Management.
• Develop and integrate messaging and event-driven solutions using Kafka, IBM MQ, or RabbitMQ.
• Deploy and manage applications in containerized environments using Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery processes.
• Work with Azure services including AKS, Key Vault, and Azure DevOps.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, and mTLS.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver banking technology solutions.
• Follow software engineering, security, quality, and development standards.
• Contribute to scalable and secure financial services applications.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience with Java 17+.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Security.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience building Spring Boot microservices.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs.
• Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger and API lifecycle management.
• Experience with Kong and/or Azure API Management.
• Experience with Kafka, IBM MQ, or RabbitMQ.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, and CI/CD.
• Experience with Azure services, particularly AKS, Key Vault, and Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, and mTLS.
• Professional experience in Banking, FinTech, Payments, or Financial Services.
• Banking domain exposure in Payments, Trade Finance, Treasury, Lending, or Digital Banking is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
